Easy to learn
Learning MegaCAD is easy. Due to its intuitive interface, even beginners will achieve professional results in just a few days. This will also benefit the occasional user who will be able to acquire the necessary skills quickly and efficiently with the minimum amount of training.

Intelligent user prompts
MegaCAD has a self-explanatory and context sensitive user interface which can, if required, be individually customized and stored in one or more user profiles. For each menu item, an explanatory note can be directly called up. Intelligent management routines ensure that the display only ever shows the menus which are meaningful or necessary for the current work step. Simultaneous use of a keyboard and a mouse make it quick and efficient to work with.

Parametric Design
All drawings which were completed in MegaCAD can be partly or completely defined as parametric where non-defined dimensions will be seen as constants. Geometric relations can also be automatically identified. MegaCAD uses dimensions instead of a programming language to define parts. The built-in intelligence automatically infers rules about tangency, perpendicularity and symmetry. It does not require any programming knowledge.

Design work made simple
Apart from producing new designs, MegaCAD also simplifies the task of amending existing drawings. Existing elements can be used as the basis for further work. Here, the intelligent cursor provides a great service, offering either all possible construction points on a drawing or just specified ones. Automatic surface recognition simplifies the assignment of associative shading and hatching. It is simple to change the attributes of any element, or to assign them the properties of existing elements.

Convincing performance
MegaCAD demonstrates its competence in handling large volumes of data. The sort of performance which other suppliers have only been able to achieve at considerable hardware cost is offered by MegaCAD for even very extensive projects on quite conventional systems. The unique processing speed of MegaCAD results from an exceptionally efficient program code and Megatech's intelligent data storage technology.

MegaCAD combines vectors with raster data
Apart from purely vector data, it is also possible to import and export raster data in the form of bit maps (TIF, PCX or Bmp) to and from a MegaCAD drawing. This fully integrated pixel module, allows the op-erator to position, modify, scale, rotate and vectorise raster data within MegaCAD. This makes it possible to re-use old paper plans and master prints, or even photographs, in MegaCAD.

Programming interface
The programming interface which is incorporated into MegaCAD al-lows functional enhancements, and even complete supplementary applications, to be integrated with MegaCAD, or implemented as Windows DLLs.

Data interchange
MegaCAD provides fully-developed interfaces (HPGL, DXF, DWG, WMF, and CDL) to enable data to be imported and exported. An IGES converter is available as an option.
Link with external production and management systems
MegaCAD is capable of retrieving information on drawing components and individual elements to export them to be used by external production and management systems. A typical scenario would be to generate, automatically, a purchase order for the required components to the corresponding project drawings.
